Is there really anything better than waking up to a steaming stack of pancakes covered in rich, sugary maple syrup? I don’t think so….seriously….I’ll fight you on this. Pancakes are a staple breakfast item in my house. They are so easy to make and very versatile in terms of what you can add to them to make them a little unique each time. Sometimes we add peanut butter, sometimes we add fruit, and sometimes we go a little crazy and add caramelized apples!
Not only is this pancake recipe really easy to make and nearly fool proof, you can make it with items that you can find in the bulk bins! Win! Zero Waste pancakes are more superior than your typical pancakes! Oh! And they are vegan.
For your next breakfast, whip up these tasty pancakes, top with whatever topping you desire, and smother them in local maple syrup. Then take a nap – you’ll be in a food coma.

The World’s Easiest Pancakes

Recipe Type: Breakfast
Serves: 2-3


  • 1 Cup of All Purpose Flour (Bulk Bins)
  • 2 Tablespoons Sugar (Bulk Bins)
  • 2 Teaspoons of Baking Powder (Bulk Spices)
  • Pinch of salt (Bulk Spices or Bulk Bins)
  • 1 Cup of Almond Milk (Homemade with Ingredients from the Bulk Bins) or Regular Milk
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil (Bulk or in Glass to be Recycled)
  • **optional: 1 Egg**


Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl, then add the wet ingredients stirring until completely combined. Warm up a well seasoned cast iron skillet or griddle and pour pancake batter onto the pans to about 5-6 inches in diameter. When the batter starts to bubble, flip. The pancakes should be golden brown. Once completely done, serve with fresh fruit or whatever topping you desire and of course – syrup!
Make some in advance and pop them into the freezer for a quick breakfast option during the hectic work week!
