KC Bulk

Attempting a Zero Waste lifestyle can be difficult without the proper resources. There have been times where I’ve researched for hours places to shop and eat in unfamiliar places just to avoid unnecessary packaging. As I travel, I will put together all of the bulk stores I experience so that you have easy access to bulk and locally grown products near you. Please, bare with me while I work on making this list. You have to start somewhere, right? 😉

Tip: Some great sources that I have found to locating bulk stores is searching for them on Yelp.

  1. Hi Megean! I found out today that the Price Chopper in South Kansas City also sells bulk food. It's not the premium quality you would find at a natural food store or co-op, but they have a wide selection and its definitely an affordable option to add to your list!

  2. WOW, this is an amazing list!! Just getting started trying to learn to be more sustainable and live a zero waste/plastic free lifestyle in the KC area. THANK YOU!!

  3. I'm a KC resident and I just learned that pet food bags are not recyclable. I was searching for bulk feed does that will allow me to bring my own sack, and I found this site instead. How wonderful! I really appreciate this resource and I look forward to reading more of your content. Thank you!

  4. Yes, sadly they are not. Terracycle does offer recycling programs on certain bags. I just opt for the biggest bag I can buy until a bulk pet food store opens in KC. 😉

I'm so happy you found my blog! I hope my tips and tricks can be beneficial!

  5. I'm a long time KC resident transitioning to a zero waste lifestyle. Thank you so much for your list! Anyone know of a place to get zero waste tofu??
