Homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice

Making homemade pumpkin pie spice is SO easy. It can also be made zero waste when bulk spices are used. I get all of my spices from a vendor at my local farmer’s market. Before I go, I take inventory of what spices are running low and grab the number of jars I need. Since I use my own containers, I am able to prevent unnecessary waste going to landfill and I always get a little extra for free since the vendor loves my zero waste mission. The smells are pretty darn heavenly, too.

Pumpkin pie spice is never something I could find in bulk and I quickly realized that it was silly to even look considering I already had all of the spices that made up pumpkin pie spice in my cupboard. Kind of like making taco seasoning. There’s just no reason to buy it premade.

I, like many of you, love pumpkin spiced everything, so you can bet your beautiful rumps that I’m making homemade pumpkin pie spice by the gallons as soon as there’s any inclination of Fall in the air. Ok, maybe not by the gallons but definitely enough to get me through fall and winter.

I use my homemade pumpkin pie spice in so many things from pies to muffins, to hot drinks, to oatmeal. It just adds so much yummy, Fall flavor to everything.
