Toothpaste is a super simple toiletry to make. With just a few ingredients you can quickly whip yourself up some toothpaste that is all natural, inexpensive, zero waste, and effective – at least it was for me. Over the last two years, I have been fighting through adult braces. My parents couldn’t afford them when I was younger so now seemed to be the best time for me get that straight, gorgeous smile that I had always dreamed of getting. Of course with braces comes added cleaning and flossing. I seriously spend about 20 minutes each time I brush my teeth just to ensure that all of the nooks, crannies, hooks, and spaces have been adequately cleaned.
In my toothpaste, I use spirulina powder which is a cyanobacterium (algae) that I find in my bulk spice department. The benefits of this mystery green powder are simply amazing – a couple being that it can help protect against oral cancers and to help remineralize your teeth.
